My philosophy

All of us can struggle to cope with stress, change and adversity. I believe that we can learn to adapt to difficult situations that life throws at us. Identifying strengths, building self-confidence and improving self-worth, is just the beginning. This is the basis on which I work with my clients.

Why Psychotherapy or Counselling?

Anybody at any point in their life can become stuck or caught in a negative space for a multitude of reasons. It may be difficult or impossible to see a brighter future or ways of making positive changes. What may be perceived as an insurmountable challenge can usually be managed effectively with the help of someone like me through regular counselling.

The service I provide

I have been providing counselling services to individual clients, couples and families for the past ten years, of all ages, races and sexual orientation. I offer a completely confidential therapy service where each individual is guaranteed respect and understanding. I am based just two miles out of Sligo city centre in a peaceful, private premises with easy off street parking.

Initial visit

Following an initial meeting where we can establish your current situation, we can work collaboratively at your own pace and together we can explore existing patterns, create new awareness’s and help you to choose your own destiny. This can happen either over a short or long period of time, whichever you feel you need or prefer.

How it works?

I have found my clients feel empowered when they make that first step in taking control. In the long term, seeking help can be the ultimate gift to yourself. Gaining better self-awareness, building confidence, learning new strategies for dealing with life and investing time in looking after yourself will equip you to move forward positively. It will enable you to lead a healthier, happier life and in the future become more resilient.

Why now?

Maybe you have reached a point in your life where you have decided to invest time in a process of change. Counselling gives each individual the opportunity to express feelings and ideas in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment. I believe that each individual has the ability to discover their own inner strengths which allows them to make more meaningful decisions and choices for themselves.
